CASE STUDY

Trinity Church Scarborough

Trinity Church Scarborough held its first service on 14th May 2017. Since then, God has shown his grace in so many exciting ways.

Numbers have increased from our original launch team of 30 to a typical 90 people on a Sunday morning. It is a delight to see such a hunger for the Word of God, an evident affection between members of the church family, and a keen desire to spread the good news of Jesus to the surrounding community.

Over these last few months, we’ve seen many Life Groups started and a number of initiatives to help Christians build each other up in gospel truth. These include our weekly Women’s Bible Study and a teenager Bible study group for girls called Encompass.

We’ve also had the pleasure of seeing new outreach ministries begun. We now run an International Food Night and a Medical Meal for Healthcare Professionals.

Summer is always extra busy in this seaside town. The population pretty much doubles. What a joy it’s been to see United Beach Missions (UBM) return. And as a local church we did some town centre street outreach at the same time. We’re praying that these initiatives grow from strength to strength in the years to come.

Gospel Yorkshire has been such an encouragement to us. They have helped us financially and are regular in prayer for what God is doing through us. It’s been such help to meet with 3 other planters connected with Gospel Yorkshire. Just to meet, talk and pray has spurred me on and assured us that I’m not alone. I’ve also appreciated the annual conferences with their clear focus on starting new churches in needy places.
