Hope for the Spen Valley

It was great to meet yesterday with a group of local church leaders to discuss the possibility of a church plant in the Spen Valley.  It was even more exciting to meet with a potential planter who has thought carefully about what it would mean to plant there.

The Spen Valley consists of Cleckheaton, Liversedge and Heckmondwike.  Approximately 50 000 people live there and there is little Gospel life.  The area is set to grow by over 25% in the next 20 years.  All these people need the Gospel.

So we met and we listened.  We discussed and we prayed.  We heard exciting proposals about how these people could be reached through the planting of a Gospel church in the Spen Valley.  We’ve now got to pray and think and seek the way forward.  Please pray on with us, for this needy area and for the Lord’s blessing on our hope to see a church planted there.

Why not find out more by coming along to our launch conference, ‘Why not now?’, on the 7th October?  As well as main sessions, we’ll have time in the four regions of Yorkshire, including a West Yorkshire group, where we’ll update you on our hopes for the Spen Valley and how you can get involved.  You can book here.
